WhatsApp on iPhone May Support 3 Accounts in One App: What We Know
Using more than one WhatsApp number on an iPhone could soon become much easier. WhatsApp is working on expanding its multi-account feature to support up to three accounts in a single app.
That means iPhone users may eventually be able to manage three different WhatsApp profiles without installing another messaging app or carrying a second phone.
The discovery was reported by WABetaInfo after the feature appeared in WhatsApp beta for iOS version 26.37.10.15. However, there is an important catch: three-account support is still under development and is not currently available for beta testing.
WhatsApp Is Working on a Third Account for iPhone
WhatsApp has already introduced multi-account support on iPhone, allowing users to add a second account and switch between profiles without logging out.
Now the company appears to be taking the feature one step further.
The latest development suggests that WhatsApp is preparing support for up to three accounts inside the same iOS application. This could be particularly useful for people who regularly use three different phone numbers.
Instead of treating the third account as a separate feature, WhatsApp appears to be extending the existing account management system.
How Will Three WhatsApp Accounts Work?
The basic idea is straightforward. Each WhatsApp account will remain separate while being managed through the same application.
Users can access the Account List from WhatsApp settings, where their active profiles are displayed.
Once two accounts are already connected, the interface can provide an option to add another account. The third profile can then be accessed through the same account-switching system.
In other words, users will not have to log out of one account just to access another.
Chats and Notifications Stay Separate
One of the most important parts of multi-account support is keeping each profile independent.
Chat history, notifications, privacy settings, backups, and media remain associated with their respective accounts. This helps prevent personal conversations from becoming mixed with work or business messages.
Notifications also identify the account associated with incoming messages. That becomes increasingly important when several profiles are active in the same application.
Who Will Benefit Most From Three Accounts?
Not everyone needs three WhatsApp accounts. For users with only one phone number, the feature will probably make little difference.
But for people who manage several numbers, it could be genuinely useful.
For example, one number could be used for personal communication, another for work, and a third for business or other activities.
Today, users in this situation may rely on WhatsApp Business, separate apps, or even another device. Native three-account support would make that setup considerably simpler.
It could also be useful for iPhone owners who want to keep personal and professional communication separate without carrying multiple phones.
Does This Make WhatsApp Business Unnecessary?
Not necessarily.
WhatsApp Business still offers dedicated tools for businesses, so multi-account support does not automatically replace the Business app.
However, users who simply need several standard WhatsApp accounts could benefit from managing them directly inside the main WhatsApp application.

When Will Three-Account Support Be Available?
This is where expectations need to stay realistic.
According to WABetaInfo, the three-account feature is still under development. It was discovered in WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.37.10.15, but it is not yet available for beta testing.
So, iPhone users cannot simply enable support for three accounts right now.
WhatsApp has also not announced an official public release date. Like other features in development, the implementation could change before it reaches a stable version.
Could WhatsApp Support More Than Three Accounts?
Interestingly, three accounts may not necessarily be the final limit.
WABetaInfo notes that WhatsApp could change the supported account limit during future development. That means the number could potentially be adjusted before the feature reaches a wider release.
For now, however, the current development points to a maximum of three accounts on one iPhone.
A More Convenient iPhone Experience for Multiple Numbers
Three-account support may sound like a small update, but it could make a noticeable difference for people who actively manage several phone numbers.
No constant logouts, no need for a second phone, and no complicated switching between separate applications. Each account can remain independent while being managed from one place.
WhatsApp is also exploring other ways to make the platform more useful. For example, the company is working on third-party AI agents that can be used directly inside WhatsApp.
If the three-account feature eventually reaches the stable release, it could become a particularly useful upgrade for iPhone users who rely on multiple WhatsApp numbers every day.
For now, three-account support remains under development and is not officially available on iPhone. The next step will be seeing when WhatsApp expands testing and eventually brings the feature to the public release.
